Principal's Page
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Let us pray:
Dear God of all consolation,
Order our days in your peace and grant us the gifts of your blessing,
Free us always from every distress and confirm our hearts in your love,
Allow us on this life’s journey to be effective in good works,
Rich in the gifts of hope, faith and charity.
Amen
Staffing News
We wish Mrs Rachel Zuideveld all the best as she heads on Maternity Leave today. Rachel's sister, Mrs Amy Gillett will take over the class for the remainder of the year.
We also wish Mrs Sue Schneider happy blessings as she will be taking Maternity Leave from Tuesday 19 November. Miss Bianca Oliveri will be the class teacher for the remainder of the year.
We pray for both mothers to be, that they have a safe arrival of their new babies.
In other staffing news we welcome Mrs Lisa Dunn. Lisa will join us each Friday as a classroom teacher. Lisa has a daughter Cailin in PP and a son Alby in the 3 year old program.
Swimming Lessons
Swimming Lessons commenced this week for students from PP, Yr2, 3B, 3G, Yr4 and Yr 6. The few times I have dropped down this week, I have seen some very enthusiastic swimmers, practicing and learning new skills. Can I ask parents to direct any questions or queries to the supervising class teachers and not the instructors for the safety of all children? In Weeks 7-8 Yr1, 3T and Yr5 will commence their lessons.
Numero
Yesterday Mrs Blake and Team - Like a Shreking Ball competed in the state Numero finals against 17 other primary school teams from around the state. A huge congratulations in coming in 5th and being the top Catholic School in the state.
Leadership News
Next Wednesday the Leadership Team will be heading to Perth to present at a Leading Pedagogy Professional Learning Event. Other Leadership Teams from Catholic Schools will also be in attendance as we share St Lawrence's story and Spiral of Inquiry of our spelling journey and how change can make a difference.
Following this event, Mrs Helen Bonnell and I will be heading to Brisbane STEM MAD National Showcase with the team who developed Swagon and were announced national winners in 2023. We will keep you posted on how this event goes.
2025 Class Splits
At St Lawrence's Primary School we are using an innovative program called 'Class Solver' to support this process. Class Solver allows each classroom teacher and the administration team to input information about each student. The program then formulates balanced and appropriate classes.
1000's of educators around the world are now using this program to ensure your child has the best start to the school year with thoughtful and intentional class placements of each student.
Happy Days
