Dear Parents and Guardians,
Let us pray:
Father's Day Prayer
'God took the strength of a mountain, the majesty of a tree, the warmth of a summer sun, the calm of a quiet sea, the generous soul of nature, the comforting arm of night, the wisdom of the ages, the power of the eagle’s flight, the joy of a morning in spring, the faith of a mustard seed, the patience of eternity, the depth of a family need, then God combined these qualities, when there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, and so, He called it … Dad.'
Amen
Numero
Once again St Lawrence's will be hosting the regional finals of the annual schools state wide Numero Competition. Next Monday and Tuesday many schools and about 30+ teams will battle it out in the schools undercover area. Goodluck to our 4 teams trained by Mrs Carolyn Blake.
Chapman Valley Show Performance
This coming Sunday is of course the annual Chapman Valley Show. Our Year 1 students will be performing at 11.30am and while you are out there check out the schools display of art put together by Miss Bowen and Mrs Cooper.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Next Wednesday Bishop Michael will be visiting the Year 6 students making their Sacrament of Confirmation. The Bishop has received letters from the candidates about their chosen saints name and the importance of Confirmation in their lives. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be held on Thursday 5 September in the schools undercover area starting at 6.00pm. Please keep our Year 6 students in your prayers.

Update to Signing In/Out Procedures:
A reminder that there has been an update to our signing in/out procedures. If you are collecting your child during school time please sign them out in the office via the Ipad and then collect them from their classroom. If you would prefer for your child to meet you in the office please contact your childs teacher via SeeSaw to ensure they are in the office at the appropriate time. Thank you for your assistance!
Before School Supervision
Please note that children are not supervised in the morning until 8:15am. We currently have many children being dropped off or catching the early bus from Drummonds, so we have a large crowd of children in the undercover area, which leads to very unsafe behaviour. We encourage all families to use the before and after school service (Kids Hub) as much as possible as then our students safety is guaranteed. As part of our new Enterprise Agreement conditions, staff do not have to be at work before 8:15am this is when duty supervision starts. EA's do not start until 8:30am. Staff who arrive at school earlier are there so that they can get themselves organised and ready for their teaching & learning day and/or the operations of the school.

Friendology - Friend-O-Cycle
The Friend-o-cycle was developed to help kids recognise the very normal cycle that friendships go through. When trust & respect is central, friendships can survive conflict and get back into the healthy zone of the Friend-o-meter. The Talk-it-Out phase is where skills come in (and kids need to practice!) to put a Friendship Fire all the way out and move on to Forgive & Forget.
