Whilst Miss Ellis is on Long Service Leave for the next 6 weeks we welcome Mrs Maddy Dent back into Kindy. Year 6 Camp
Congratulations to our Year 6 students who had the most incredible time at camp in Week 1. I had the privilege of being with them for the week and I must say they were so well behaved. Congratulations parents for bringing up your children to show great manners and to be so thankful for all the wonderful things they did whilst in Perth. To the staff that attended and organised the camp, what a superb job. Thank you Miss Vanessa Knowles, Miss Steffanie Hall, Mrs Elisha Criddle, Mrs Amber Gratte, Mr Stuart Gaby, Miss Tori Bunter, Mrs Jane Miragliotta and Miss Claire O'Brien. Being away from your family and friends for a week and looking after the students is a big ask. Thank you for making the camp so special for our Year 6 students.
Grandparents Day
What an incredible turnout of grandparents we had for our annual Grandparents Day, celebrated on the Feast Day of St Joachim and St Anne last week. Thank you to 6T who led the whole school in prayer before a shared morning tea and a visit to their grandchild's classroom.
I want to acknowledge the essential role that grandparents play in our students' lives. Your wisdom, experience, and guidance have a profound impact on their character development. You are a beacon of love, support, and knowledge, and your presence enriches their lives in ways that cannot be measured.
Once again, I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for participating in the prayer service on Grandparents Day. Your presence has brought immense joy and warmth to our school community, and we are truly humbled by your love and support. We recognize and appreciate the countless sacrifices you have made for your grandchildren, and we are forever grateful for your unwavering love.
Semester 2 Ministry Leaders
On Monday the Leadership Team shared lunch with our Semester 2 Ministry Leaders and Head boy and girl. We chatted about their expectations and what they are looking forward to throughout the coming semester. They have already had their first Ministry Assembly and led their team at the School Cross Country Carnival.
We wish them all the best in their leadership roles.

A huge congratulations to our ensemble group who performed 2 shows at QPT yesterday as part of the Nagle Showcase. Special thanks to Mrs Hart in preparing our students for the show.
It was also wonderful to see so many past STLPS students up on stage. They have continued with their performing arts which all started when they were at St Lawrence's through our own schools performing arts program.

Prayer - Peace
Dear Lord,
Come to our aid! Grant us peace, teach us peace; guide our steps in the way of peace.
Open our eyes and our hearts and give us the courage to be peaceful people.

St Lawrence's Feast Day
The feast day for St Lawrence - the Patron Saint of our School and Parish is on 9th August. St Lawrence is a martyr which means that he died because of his faith and commitment to God. He is famous for selling many possessions of the church in Rome and giving the money to help the poor.
Year Three Family Mass will be celebrated on Saturday August 10th, 6:00pm, St Lawrence's Church. Please join with our year threes as they lead the parish in the Saturday evening eucharistic celebration.
Sacraments
Our year six students are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in September, please pray for them:
Holy Spirit, you are the giver of many gifts which God wants to give to us very personally.
Open our hearts and our minds as we prepare for Confirmation.
Help us to know that you are confirming all the goodness that we are , and all the goodness that we will become.
Increase our desire to know and follow Jesus as his disciple with grateful and courageous hearts.
Amen.

Dear Parents,
URSTRONG’s whole-school friendship strategy has improved the social climate in schools around the world, connecting over a million kids, parents, and teachers with a common language of friendship. We are proud to be a URSTRONG School and are committed to empowering your children with friendship skills.
You are invited to take advantage of a FREE Parent Membership to access hundreds of resources – including an 8 session video series. This will allow you to learn the same language & strategies being taught in the classroom through the Friendology 101 curriculum. We hope that, as a URSTRONG Family, you will reinforce the important messages of empowerment, self-compassion, & kindness at home.

We believe that empowering our students with these skills will create a culture of kindness at our school and we hope that, together, we can support your children to have healthy, feel-good friendships.
Have you spotted the Friendology Posters?
The first one is 4 Friendship Facts. The 4 Friendship Facts were developed because we noticed that children weren’t sure what was “normal” or common in their friendships. These 4 Friendship Facts are the foundation of a healthy, respectful friendship and apply to relationships throughout life.
