Dear Parents and Guardians,
First Eucharist
On Sunday at 11am our Year 4 students will be making their First Eucharist. This is a very special time for them and their families as they receive the Body of Christ for the first time. I thank the class teachers Mrs Waldock, Miss Ahearn and Mr Hood in preparing the children for their special day as well as the parents who of course are the first educators of your children. Please keep the children in your prayers as they continue to build this special relationship with God.
Colour Run/Disco
What a fantastic event that was held last Thursday night on our school oval. The P&F Colour Run/Disco was so awesome. I would like to congratulate the P&F subcommittee for their organisation and success. Led by Nadine Smith the many volunteers ensured that all children had a night they will never forget. The music was pumping thanks to DJ Louise and the kids were treated to juice, water, chips, lollies, and popcorn.
I am sure parents would have had little success in their attempts to get all that colour out of their children's clothes.
Mid Year Reports and Interview Update
Mid Year Reports will be sent out in Week 10 via SEQTA. Parents have the opportunity to book a face to face or TEAMs meeting with the class teacher to be held on Friday 30 June. The school will be open for students who require supervision or you may elect to keep your child at home and bring them in just for the allocated meeting. Students will need to wear their uniform for the meeting.
The reports this semester will look a little bit different. 'C' grade descriptors will be displayed under the learning areas of Religious Education, English and Mathematics instead of a comment. Only a General Comment at the end of the report will be attached. You will have the opportunity to discuss your child's progress at your booked meeting.
Happy Days

Colour Run Disco
Our first ever Colour Run Disco it is safe to say was an enormous success. There was lots of positive feedback from parents straight after the event with one mum saying her daughters said it was the “best day of their life.”
All credit must go to Nadine Smith for being brave enough to suggest a change to the disco this year and head up the subcommittee to take this on. Events like this take a lot planning weeks ahead and as this was something new, it took extra effort and energy to ensure it was successful. Thank you to the following members of the Disco Subcommittee who assisted Nadine: Beau Campbell (setting up the fantastic obstacle course), Julie Driscoll, Melissa Smith, Ash Collins from Opus Music (Stereo set up), Kylie Springett and the parents (some who are staff) who assisted at either or both discos with the sign in and out desk, ensuring children collected their drinks and lolly bags/popcorn, maintaining their obstacle course station or crowd control. Thankyou to Margaret Devine for your behind the scenes work in assisting to set up the Quikcliq booking system for the disco and ironing out any glitches before it went live. This was the first time we had used the system for a P&F event, and it proved successful. Special thanks must go to Louise Oliveri who very generously stepped in at the last minute to be our DJ when DJ Dad Leigh was unable to make it. You did an amazing job Louise.
Thankyou also to Mr O’Malley for assisting in organising the Ministry Leaders to take part in the Colour Run Disco, to support their leadership roles across the school. All credit goes to these students; Thea, Wesley, Asta, Beau, Kylan, Hunter P, Lani, Annabelle, Leo and George and Stella they conducted themselves in a very mature way and took care to ensure that the younger students were ‘coloured up’ and had an enjoyable disco.
Looking ahead to 2024. The Disco subcommittee will need a new Coordinator as Nadine after three consecutive discos, takes a break. If you think you would like to have a go at coordinating this event next year, please get in touch. Nadine and the committee are happy to pass on any information that will help you to create yet again another successful event from the P&F.
Sea Container Cleanout
As you have already seen through the social media posts from the day, the P&F Sea Container cleanout has been finalised. There were lots of giveaways and we recycled as much as we could. Most of the donations were to the PP and Kindy, parents from the school, the Scout group and to community group Boomerang Bags. As mentioned before thankyou to Heidi Teakle for coordinating and thanks to those who gave up their time to help on the Saturday morning, Illiria, Margaret, David and past students Liam and Isabella.
Next event
Carols on the Green will be the next event on the P&F calendar. Save the date for Thursday 30th November in Week 8 Term 4. The Coordinators for this event will be Julie O’Malley and Amy Campbell. We are looking for people to join our sub-committee, if you were inspired from last year’s event and would like to be a part of it please get in touch.
Next Meeting
Our next meeting is Monday 12th June 4.30pm in the Staffroom. Hope to see you there and remember you are all always welcome.
Kind regards,
Julie O’Malley
P&F Chairperson
