Staffing News
After 12 years as working as an Education Assistant, Jodie Gaspar has decided to resign as of 29 March. I’m sure many of you will miss Jodie’s smiling face, great sense of humour and the extra work she has put into the sustainability team over the past few years. I would like to thank Jodie for the many years of dedication to the students of St Lawrence's and wish her the best in her future pursuits.
School Open Night
Thank you to the many families that came through our school last Thursday evening for our Open Night. There were many smiling faces as children proudly showed their families their classroom and the excellent work they have been doing since the start of the year.
Thank you to the staff who cooked and served the free sausage sizzle that was on offer throughout the evening.
Happy Days

Fruit of the Spirit:
Kindness: an act or gesture that may benefit others. When we are being kind we are doing good things for those around us.
Project Compassion Fundraiser:
Wear a green accessory for St Patrick's day tomorrow and donate old books to our year six secondhand book stall. To wear a green item or to buy a book – please bring a gold coin donation for each.
All money donated will go to Caritas – Project Compassion 2023.
Father Gerard – St Patrick's Day is also a celebration day for Father Gerard who was ordained a priest on this day in 2001. Congratulations Father on your 22 years of service to our Diocese.
Year 2 Family Mass
All school families are welcome to join with our Year 2 cohort as they lead the parish in their Family Mass on Saturday evening at 6:00pm. Please remember that all our Family Masses are held in the undercover area and not the church to cater for all our families attending.
Year 3 Reconciliation
Please keep our year three students who are preparing to make their first confession (The Sacrament of Reconciliation) on Saturday April 1st.
Merciful God,
As our year three students prepare for first reconciliation,
Help them to ask forgiveness when they need to.
Help them to forgive others who have wronged them.
Help them learn to be truly sorry and want to do better.
Amen

P&F Meeting Week 8
The P&F Meeting is Monday 20th March at 4.30pm in the Staffroom. As previously advertised the agenda for this meeting is to confirm the budget for 2023, vote for approvals of expenditures for budget items and teacher 'wish lists'. Other items for discussion will include confirmation of Fundraising Goals, Subcommittees in 2023, Easter Raffle timeline and details and CSPWA Affiliation.
This meeting also provides the opportunity for you to join one of the subcommittees that you would like to contribute to over the year. We need more helpers for the Easter Raffle and if you would like to join this subcommittee get in touch with the Coordinators Heidi Teakle and Sarah Murray.
Just a reminder to Parents and Guardians that you are all members of the P&F and we welcome your contributions at scheduled meetings. Come along and see how your P&F levy contributions are being spent and the decisions being made. We look forward to seeing you there on Monday.
Easter Raffle 2023
The Easter Raffle this year will be coordinated by Heidi Teakle and Sarah Murray. The timeline for this fundraiser is as follows:
Week 9
Monday 27th March – bring your Easter egg/bunny donations to school and place in the collection crate in your classroom
Tuesday 28th March – Raffle Books to be sent home with the eldest child – check school bags!
Week 10
Tuesday 4th April – Last day to return Raffle Books and monies and donations of egg/bunny.
Wednesday 5th April - subcommittee will wrap prizes, prizes drawn by a member of the Administration taking place late that afternoon.
Thursday 6th April – in the afternoon prizes will be delivered to the winners via their classroom.
Please take note of this very short turn around for distribution and return of raffle books and money – 8 days. There is one book per family and if you would like to purchase more tickets, a limited number of books will be available as ‘cash and carry’ only available from the Front Office. Books contain 10 tickets at $1 each.
If selling tickets to others outside of school, please ensure that your child’s name and class/class teacher is clearly written on the butt of the ticket so prizes can be delivered correctly.
A request - If you do not want your raffle book or to purchase any tickets, please do not throw it away. Return it to school so it gives those who want to purchase more tickets the opportunity to do so. We are trying to make this exercise as sustainable as possible.
Anyone interested in joining the Easter Raffle subcommittee please get in touch! We will require a team to collate and wrap prizes on Wednesday 5th April in the afternoon.
Communio
The Communio for this raffle will be the Women’s Refuge and Shelter. Baskets of Easter chocolates will be donated to this organisation Thursday afternoon.
Kind regards,
Julie O’Malley
