Dear Parents and Guardians,
Staffing News
After 17 years at St Lawrence's and 30 years as an educator I would like to congratulate Mrs Elaine Battilana on her upcoming retirement. For the last 2 years, Elaine has been on leave. We thank her for the many years of service and the 100's of children she would have taught over the years around WA.
I am sure we will continue to see Elaine around the school for many years to come as she has her wonderful grandchildren still here at St Lawrence's. All the best Elaine and enjoy every day of your retirement.
WASO
What a pleasure it was to have the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra visit St Lawrence's last week. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to the string instruments and learning about the different musical attributes associated with each instrument. Thank you to Mrs Hart for organising this wonderful incursion.
The Lion King JR Auditions
In 2023 the Arts Extension Program will be performing the musical - The Lion King JR. On Tuesday, The Arts Teachers and Leadership watched 50+ individual auditions for the main parts in the musical. Congratulations to all of the students who were brave enough to have a go. They were all brilliant. Now the hard work begins for the next 10 months through the many rehearsals required to put the production together.
Best of luck to all involved.
Bastille Day
Today it was all things French as we celebrated Bastille Day. From Macarons and Chocolate Pastries to the Can-can and French Waiters Race, Madame Arangio has put together a spectacular event highlighting the French culture at its finest at St Lawrence's. It will be a day that our students will never forget.

Numero Finals
Congratulations to Bianca, Shaylan, Noah, Patterson and super coach Mrs Blake in coming 3rd in today’s State Numero Finals. This year’s competition was hosted by Wattle Grove Primary School. St Lawrence’s team, ‘Cloak of Divisibility’ was one of eighteen teams from around the state competing in the event. They had been training three to four times per week and were looking forward to the mathematical challenge.
St Lawrence’s was the only Catholic School in today’s final. Carey Baptist came in first and just 2 points ahead of St Lawrence’s was Willeton. This is by far the best result we have ever had. What an awesome effort.
2023 Class Splits
During this term teachers will be reviewing class splits for 2023 using their professional knowledge and expertise in meeting the educational needs for all students. Considerations are taken for the academic, social/emotional, behavioral and cultural needs of all students in a year level cohort with the intention of creating well–balanced, vibrant, and positive learning environments. Whilst parental issues and concerns are valued, the best judgements of professionals will form the basis of classes for the next educational year.
Happy Days,
