I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday break as much as I did. It was fantastic to see all your smiling faces again, ready to begin yet another term.
Term 3 is once again a busy term. Please continue to check the school calendar for upcoming events. Some of the bigger ones are listed below:

New Students
We welcome many new students and families to St Lawrence's Primary School Community this term. Thank you for choosing STLPS and we look forward to working with you now, and into the future.
Congratulations
Wonderful news! During the holidays, Miss Knowles became engaged to her now fiancé, Lachlan. We wish them well and look forward to hearing about all the wedding plans in the future.
State Surfing Champion
A huge congratulations to Year 6 student, Cruz Macdonald, who was crowned the State Under 12 Champion over the weekend. We are all very proud of your achievements.
Staffing
We welcome back two staff members to STLPS for Term 3: Kassie Whitby as an Education Assistant in PPB, and Laura Garraway as an Education Assistant across the junior years. We wish them well in their roles in the school.

The Sacrament of Confirmation (Year Six)
Our Year Six students will begin their preparation to receive the sacrament of Confirmation in term three. Important dates:
Confirmation Retreat Day
Catholic Centre - Thursday July 28
Confirmation Commitment Masses
St Lawrence's Church - Saturday July 30 at 6pm or Sunday July 31 at 9am.
The Sacrament of Confirmation
Undercover Area - Thursday September 8 at 6pm
St Lawrence Feast Day: Wednesday August 10th
School Prayer Service is at 9.15am in the undercover area
and Open Night is from 5-6:00pm
Term Three School Mass: Monday August 15th
9:30am Celebrating The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven

BRLA Testing
A reminder that students in Years 3 & 5 will be participating in the Bishops' Religious Literacy Assessment on the following dates:
Practice Test: Thursday 28th July, 9:30am
BRLA Test: Thursday 4th August, 9:30am
Seesaw App Messaging Changes
The Seesaw App has had some recent updates, and one of the changes is that when replying to a message thread from the class teacher, the reply may go to 'all families' in the class instead of ONLY the class teacher as it did previously.
We have requested the option to turn this feature off, but in the meantime if you are sending a private message to your child's class teacher please ensure you start a new message directed only to the teacher, and not reply to a whole class thread or class group message from the teacher.
Bus Lane - Smith Street
Please refrain from parking/stopping in the marked bus lane on Smith Street for morning drop-off and afternoon pick up. Please use the new allocated car bays on Railway Street.
