Leader's Forum Roadshow
Last Thursday the school's Leadership Team attended the annual Leader's Forum Roadshow held here in Geraldton. CEWA played host to all Catholic Schools from the Geraldton Diocese. Bishop Michael started the day with prayer before newly appointed Executive Director Mrs Anette Morey outlined her vision for Catholic Education in WA.
Annette spoke to school leaders about accepting diversity, online schooling, branding our schools using alternative models of education. She also focused on future full time kindy as well as our schools being a place of innovation, using not only AI as an effective tool but also the importance of student voice. Annette set the scene for Catholic Education for the coming years.
Other presenters throughout the day included the Governance team, the Teaching and Learning Team, Business Development and finally the Director of Religious Education.
Athletics Week
Good luck to all competitors next week as we head into 3 days of all things athletics. Gummer has won the carnival in the last 3 years, so maybe this year we might have a new champion faction. Of course parents and families are most welcome to attend the days and hopefully we will have some glorious weather. The carnival aims for full participation and everyone giving it a go. Please keep your children well fed and hydrated throughout the coming week.
Don't forget Friday 15 August is our Catholic Day - No School

Feast Day: Feast of St Lawrence: 10th August:
St Lawrence's Feast Day
The feast day for St Lawrence - the Patron Saint of our School and Parish is on 10 August.
St Lawrence is a martyr which means that he died because of his faith and commitment to God.
He is famous for selling many possessions of the church in Rome and giving the money to help the poor.
Dear Lord,
We pray to St Lawrence, who in the flower of youth suffered and died for the faith, hear our prayers.
With confidence we fly to your patronage.
Obtain for us deep faith, strong hope, a sincere love of God and neighbour, unsullied chastity and humble obedience.
Amen

Prayer: Mary MacKillop Feast Day August 8th ( Australia's first Saint)
God of the Pilgrim, Mary MacKillop trusted your guidance in her journey of life and deepened her confidence in your will. May we renew our trust in your Providence to lead us to hope as we bring our prayer before you. May we grow in the fullness of your love and the depth of your mystery. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Way, our Truth and our Life.
Amen.

Year Six Confirmation
Our year six students are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in September, please pray for them:
Holy Spirit, you are the giver of many gifts which God wants to give to us very personally.
Open our hearts and our minds as we prepare for Confirmation.
Help us to know that you are confirming all the goodness that we are , and all the goodness that we will become.
Increase our desire to know and follow Jesus as his disciple with grateful and courageous hearts.
Amen.

Nut Allergy's
Just a reminder to all parents, several children at our school have nut allergy's and we ask that you refrain from packing any food containing nuts in your child's lunch box.
School Pickup
To all parents and guardians, please ensure your child is picked up promptly at the end of the school day. Prompt pickups help us maintain a smooth and safe dismissal for all students.
Crunch & Sip
We kindly remind you to please send your child to school each day with their Crunch & Sip. Lately, we’ve had a number of students coming to the office for Crunch & Sip. While we are always happy to support students, our limited supply is needed for those who require assistance.
