    Loving God,

As we begin Semester 2 at St Lawrence’s by the Sea, we thank You for the gift of our school community. Bless our students, teachers, staff, and families with Your guidance and protection.

May our classrooms be places of kindness, curiosity, and respect. Help us to grow in wisdom, compassion, and courage as we learn together. Let our hearts be open to new friendships, and our hands ready to help those in need.

We pray for safety in all we do—at school, at home, and in our travels. Watch over us with Your loving care and keep us strong in body, mind, and spirit.

May our school be a beacon of hope and joy by the sea, where every child feels valued, every voice is heard, and every day is filled with purpose.

Guide our leaders with wisdom, our teachers with patience, and our students with enthusiasm. Let peace and understanding flow through our halls, and may Your light shine in all we do.

We place this new semester in Your hands, trusting in Your love and grace.

    Amen.

    New Staff
We welcome Caelen Browning, Kiara Boys and Heather Paterson to St Lawrence's as class teachers. I am sure you will love working at St Lawrence's and your new classes.

Congratulations to Mrs Jackie McMahon who was the successful applicant for the new position of School Psychologist and Well Being Leader. Jackie knows our school context very well as she moves over from CEWA to service St Lawrence's for 3 days a week. Jackie will commence her new position in Week 3.

Welcome to the following students who have started at St Lawrence's this Term.
    Tatianna - 1B

    Retirement
Congratulations Mary Catalano on your retirement from St Lawrence's. Mary has been on long service leave for the last couple of years as she has eased her way into the next stage of her life. St Lawrence's thanks Mary for 34 years of service as a cleaner and canteen assistant.

    Semester 2 Ministry Leaders
Congratulations to our newly elected Semester 2 Ministry Leaders:
    Thomas - Indianna and Finlay
    Gummer - May and Reece
    Kelly - Evie and Hawkins
    O'Collins - Tully and Mitchell

We know you will do a terrific job leading your faction for the remainder of the year.

Congratulations to our outgoing leaders from Semester 1. We thank you for leading your faction at the swimming carnival, setting up sports equipment each week, working with the sports teachers, and running assemblies.

    Cluedunnit Winners
Congratulations to our St Lawrence’s team ‘Concrete Crusaders’ who were joint winners in the statewide competition this year. They were presented with their medals at the Geraldton Court House on Wednesday by Magistrate Thompson which included a live video link to Judge Hughes and other winning schools from the Perth Children’s Court.

Joint Winners - St Lawrence's Primary School and Newman College
Runner up - Frederick Irwin Anglican School
Ambassador School Award - St Augustine's Primary School

Cluedunnit Kids provides a fun, unique and creative learning opportunity for Year 6 student teams to investigate a fictional criminal offence with the goal of identifying the prime suspect and eliminating the other suspects.

A brief of evidence provides clues and students can then ask up to six questions to get further evidence to help them identify the prime suspect and eliminate the others.

Each team then creates and submits their findings in a creative way of their choosing. Creative submission types range from electronic/digital formats (video interviews, video songs, video song with a choreographed dance, animations, PowerPoint presentations and video re-enactment) or a written format (pop-up book, board game, booklet, comic, poster).

Cluedunnit Kids provides a unique learning opportunity for students to apply the core Humanities and Social Sciences skills and addresses WA Curriculum General Capabilities.
