A Prayer for Pope Francis
(In Memory of His Holiness Pope Francis)
The world stood still, a quiet breath,
As we heard of the passage from life to death.
A shepherd's heart, so pure and wide,
Led us to faith, with love as his guide.
Through valleys dark and mountains steep,
He taught us to love, and called us to leap
Beyond our fears, beyond our pain,
To seek the truth, and rise again.
With humble hands, he served the poor,
A voice for those whom others ignore.
In words of peace, in acts of care,
He showed the world a love so rare.
The legacy of his gentle hand
Spreads like the waves upon the sand.
A papacy of kindness, bold and bright,
Shining a beacon of truth and light.
Now he rests, in heaven's embrace,
But his spirit lives in every grace.
His teachings remain, ever strong,
In our hearts, where they belong.
Rest now, dear shepherd, faithful and true,
Your journey's complete, but your love will renew.
Pope Francis, your light will never fade—
In the hearts of the faithful, your love is laid.
Amen
