Dear Parents and Guardians,
Let Us Pray:

Celebrating 85 years of Catholic Education

The 85 years committee have been very busy coming up with a week of activities for our 85th celebrations. Some of these will include:
- Mass and Morning Tea
- Tours for our VIP visitors
- Family Picnic
- Buddy class activities including old time games
- Faction games afternoon
- P&F Disco
The celebrations start on Tuesday 20 May and will conclude on Friday 23 May. More details will be advertised early next term.
Cyber Safety
Each evening an Internet Safeguarding Report is sent to schools leadership teams. This report outlines those who have accessed inappropriate websites which include self-harm, extremism, drugs, adult profanity and a huge list of unacceptable web categories including videos. Please note the safeguarding report monitors student internet usage using a school device at school. If students are found accessing inappropriate websites their teachers and parents will be notified and they will be dealt with appropriately.
I have asked all teachers to speak with their students about internet safety and I encourage all parents to do the same.

Parent Code of Conduct
As a parent who has enrolled your child at St Lawrence's, you would have been made aware of the schools Code of Conduct which can be found on the schools webpage during the enrolment process. Over the coming weeks, I would like to look carefully at the 12 statements and outline the parent/carer responsibility to the school community. The Code does not give detailed professional advice on specific behaviour. Rather, it describes the minimum requirements expected of you. The Code is applicable to every person connected with a school, whether they are staff, students, parents, volunteers or visitors.
Conduct Statement No. 1 - You act safely and competently
Summary:
- Student Safety Priority: Always prioritise student safety above all else.
- Behaviour and Decision-Making: Your actions should clearly reflect the best interests of students, avoiding any ambiguity.
- Rights of Students and Parents: Provide accurate information, protect against harm.
- Policies: Follow school policies.
- Reporting and Intervention: Report any relevant information or unethical behaviour to maintain student safety.
- Collaboration: Work with parents and staff, adhering to policies.
- Student-Centred Decisions: Make decisions based on students' age, ability, and overall well-being.
- Seek Advice: Consult with experts and the Principal as needed.

Fruit of the Spirit Focus: Patience
Patience: Patience could be described as having the ability to put aside our immediate wants and needs for another. We are willing to wait our turn even though we would like to have it now. We consider the needs of others when it is appropriate rather than immediately satisfying our own needs.
